GROWING UP

I’m glad I’m not a vegetable
Not just for why you think
My sister says she thinks I am
I think my sister stinks

It must be hard to grow in dirt
Gets muddy when it rains
Though Lima beans, disgusting, are
A plant of little brains

A life so simple you might say
Sounds sometimes rather nice
A drawback is that vegetables
Get gnawed upon by mice

Tomatoes, Carrots, and the rest
Are likely to be chewed
I can’t imagine being raised
Well, simply raised for food

LISTEN TO ME READ

I was imagining putting faces on vegetables and then thought about what they thought about being eaten...
