ME, MYSELF, and I

The Flea said to me
When he looked at the Ant,
"How much bigger she is than I."

The Ant said, "I can't
figure out how to fly
like that Bird and I wonder why."

The Bird overheard
"Always wanted to swim,
be a Fish, of this I can't lie."

The Fish said, "I wish
I could jump like Fleas can
over waterfalls, oh so high."

Guess we all can fall
To want something we're not
So says, well, Me, Myself, and I.

LISTEN TO ME READ

This Silly poem came to me while I was swimming in Palm Springs... one stanza at a time. So I kept having to get out of the pool and dry my hands and arms and face so I wouldn't drip all over my notebook. Again and again and again. But I like that the meter and rhyming scheme is different. It takes what it takes, right?
