MOM and DAD ARE ALIENS

My Mom and Dad are aliens
I know this to be true
This isn’t just some thing I think
My life is one big clue

There’s Lima Beans and stinky things
They tell me I must eat
I have to share my toys and stuff
With younger brother Pete

There’s, “Go to bed and go to school.”
Piano lessons too
I gotta clean the litter box
Of our cat Fluffy’s poo

Gotta wear clean socks and brush my teeth
And don’t use words like ‘Ain’t’
Who are these people? Humans, no
I ain’t no perfect saint

My final clue, the coup de grâce
Besides the thing with math
The proof my folks are Alien…
They INSIST I take a BATH!

The things that we parents think are important must sometimes sound ridiculous to our kids. Just as what our kids think important sounds silly to us.
