SUMMERTIME BLUES

Whadayawanna do
I said, “I don’t really know.”
What do YOU want to do
And round and round it goes

Well, we could go to, “No…”
We did all that yesterday
Uhm, we could try to, “Nope…”
No way, what can I say

We both got rather bored
My very best friend and me
As the Summer dragged on
With nothing new to see

We’d both done this and that
Each day was just one day more
We almost thought that school
Was better, we’re, well, bored

That’s good to hear you say
My Mom sneaked up like a ghoul
You two know tomorrow
IS the first day of school

Not yet! No way! No how!
That just can’t be really true
But the smile on Mom’s face
Says, yes, she really knew

LISTEN TO ME READ

I remember as a kid being totally bored during the long endless days of Summer. Then, all of a sudden, Summer was over and we thought of tons of stuff we never had time to do.
