MY CAT'S NOT A DOG

My cat doesn’t bark
Or howl at the moon
If I say, “Hey, wake up!”
She says, “It’s too soon.”

My slippers are safe
No late midnight walk
She does not chase her tail
No walk ‘round the block

She’s too smart for that
She’s not in a fog
She knows that she’s lucky
‘Cause she’s not a dog

She sleeps until noon
As Cats tend to do
Most dogs are up early
They don’t have a clue

There’s so many things
That my Cat is not
But not being a dog
Well, that says a lot
