TODD the TOAD

I heard a sound, it went Spring Sprong
And next a hop and then Ding-Dong
My doorbell rang, my Clock Tick-Tocked
It was a Toad, the Toad Hip-Hopped

He sat upon the front door mat
But then he hopped and then he sat
He looked at me and said, “My name
Is Todd the Toad, I’m glad you came.”

“If you were kind you’d feed me lunch
At least, kind sir, perhaps just brunch.”
I closed the screen, it went click-clack
I said to Todd, “I’ll be right back.”

My Cat meowed, I fed him first
While food is food, Cat food’s the worst
I had the can, I showed the Toad
His eyes got big, I should have knowed

He saw me feed my Big Fat Cat
He croaked, “No no, I can’t eat THAT!”
I thinked some thoughts, said, “My oh my.”
I baked Todd Toad some Housefly Pie

LISTEN TO ME READ

I was thinking how many other animals try to eat our Cat's food every day... and this poem came out.
